Kingston Youth Services marches with pride at Midsumma

Published on 21 March 2025

On Sunday 3 February, Kingston Youth Services proudly joined around 40 community members, friends, and family at the annual Midsumma Pride March.

Despite the summer heat, the group embraced the spirit of Pride, donning rainbow colors, glitter, and plenty of enthusiasm. Leading the way were young members from our Queer in Kingston and Pride Connect social groups, marching proudly through the lively, crowd-lined streets.

For some young people and Council staff, it was their first time participating in a Pride March, and the experience was met with excitement and praise. The energy from the day has already sparked plans to make Kingston’s presence at next year’s event even bigger and better!

More than just a one-day celebration, the Pride March serves as a reminder that visibility, inclusion, and allyship must be embedded in all areas of Youth Services and the wider Council. We remain committed to uplifting and supporting LGBTQIA+ young people every day.

A huge thank you to the young people who marched with us—your presence and passion made the day truly special!
